Stunning wedding at the Arizona Biltmore

Flowers and Decor by Angelic Grove

Coordination by Victoria Canada Weddings and Events

I love the sweet expression on Sarah’s mother’s face as she watches her daughter approach the aisle.

This was one of the most gorgeous weddings!  I’ve known Hallie since I was about 5 and I had the great opportunity to photograph her day.  The ceremony was set in a barn at Desert Foothills and the decor was gorgeously arranged by Angelic Grove.  I loved her hybrid of old Arizona style with contemporary elegance.  She mixed stunning chandeliers and romantic lighting with rustic boots and bolo ties.  As a sweet personal touch, she wore her mom’s veil.

Shannon and Scooter’s engagement album came in!  I can’t tell you what a thrill it is to see the images in a well designed printed book.  Here are some of my favorite spreads….

It’s always a great compliment to receive a kind note from the bride after she sees her images for the first time, but it’s an even greater joy for me when a family member and in this case, a father, takes time out of his day to send me a sweet email.  I received this note from Jack, the father of the bride:

Dear Hollye,

Over a year has passed since Lisa and Brian’s wedding and I was hoping to see you in person one day but it’s doubtful that will happen in the near future. I just wanted to tell you how perfect the photographs of the wedding are. Every time I look at them it takes me back to Cloverdale, CA . The most impressive thing about your work is that you not only have captured the moment but also the emotion that embraced that moment. For me personally I was riding a roller coaster of emotions and each time I view the wedding album it’s like getting back on the ride. Thank you so much for creating a lasting memory of that magical day.

Best Regards,

Jack Santillo

These images were of the father’s first few moments seeing his “little girl” in her dress.

Thank you Jack for reminding me about the importance of what I do and why I’m so incredibly passionate about weddings.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Amy Petrovsky a number of times over the past 5 years.  Her events are seamlessly run and the product of her hard work is always stunning.  She has an amazing eye for detail and her hands on approach with her clients is to be admired.  Here she answers some of my questions regarding her passion for events….
What are your 5 favorite things about producing events?
Not in any particular order here’s why I LOVE what I do.
  • Love to see the clients reaction when they first walk into the venue! My goal is the WOW effect.
  • Bring events to life by keeping true to the clients vision and budget.
  • Create personality through elements such as color, texture and props.
  • Enjoy building a relationship with my clients that most often extend past the event.
  • And last but surely not least – LOVE to work with amazing and creative vendors like HOLLYE!!!
What is your favorite Event trend of the moment?
I love that events aren’t as structured as they used to be. Incorporating unique seating arrangements with square tables and furniture adds depth that you can’t achieve with all round formal tables. Guests want to be more inactive during an event so action stations and room set up play a key part to creating this atmosphere.
Where do you find your inspiration for your events?
Everywhere. I look for anything and everything that makes me look twice. I was in a huge candy store and I saw all these amazing big candies that are edible but what I saw where fabulous props for a candy themed event or Valentine’s wedding.
Who are your favorite clients to work with?
I enjoy clients that trust me to present creative ideas and then allow my team to add a unique twist. It’s the client that let’s me into their world that I can create the best event for.
If you weren’t in the business of creating incredible events…what would you be doing?
I spent the first part of my career in public and media relations along with doing great events for past employers such as The Phoenix Children’s Hospital so I have had two great careers. I still enjoy doing PR and media for my charity events.

Phoenix Bride and Groom had me shoot their cover and fashion spread the other month and the magazine is finally out!  I was so excited not only to see how well the cover came out but also to see my pup, nigel making his magazine cover debut.

There were a lot of moving parts to this shoot given our time constraints and the amount of people involved in each shot but the styling, hair, and production team were amazing!

A few notable thank you’s:

Jez Noble was my trusty assistant that day who deserves a major shout out.  He was a miracle worker when it came to moving lights and finding outlets.   I can’t thank him enough.

Thank you to the rest of the crew and models who all pulled together to make the day run so smoothly!   Franco…you have the perfect model laugh!

The clothing was sponsored by Ted Baker who gave the modern wedding party a unique twist of style.  Thank you Benny from the Scottsdale Fashion store for your TB expertise and Shanon Campbell for your gorgeous styling!

Floral and Decor was provided by the insanely talented: Angelic Grove.  They continue to amaze me with their decor.

Fran and Darren,  your enthusiasm that day was contagious.  Thank you for helping this idea come alive on film and being your wonderful selves throughout the process.  It was such a pleasure to see the two of you working as a team!
