I've been watching the Beyer family grow from the time they came in to the studio to book me for their wedding about 3 years ago, to their engagement session, wedding, pregnancy session, and up until now, as they introduce their newest member of the family, Bennett Beyer. It's been an honor to document so many milestones in their life. Here are a selection of some of my favorite images from the day: Labels: family, Kids

These are some fun images I shot recently of my niece, Ryan. I added the giant lollipop to the session to bring more color into the mix (she was obviously very excited about it!). I opted for a white background to help the colors pop. Ryan is an incredibly fun kid to photograph and I am continually inspired by her excitement for life. Labels: Kids, Lifestyle Images

I love how expressive this boy was thorough-out the session. In just an hour, he went from excited, to happy, to funny, to upset, and back to happy again. The top image of him crying was one of my favorites from the session because it really showcases what kids photography is all about. Capturing every moment of a child...not simply the smily happy faces. Of course, he's a very happy boy, but it's refreshing to see real emotion. Labels: Kids

Eric and I have been documenting the Cook family for the past 2 years. It's been amazing to watch their kids grow. Even though they are getting older, I still see the same expressions and attitudes that made them unique two years ago. Beth and Stephen (the parents) have always given us complete creative freedom which is extremely refreshing. There is nothing greater to us than having the freedom to create an image of a child when they're in the moment. There were some magical shots that presented themselves towards the end of the day just as I was packing up. I'm still deep in editing at the moment, but I'll post more when I have some time.
