We define our design style as modern, clean, simple, and classic. Our inspiration is Anthropologie, West Elm, and Nordstrom catalogues as well as photography art books and Vanity Fair magazine.
Our goal when designing is to honor the images as opposed to piling shots on top of each other and making the pages look overly cluttered and scrap-booky. That said, we also limit the amount of family shots to a total of 4. Not because we don’t love your family… but we don’t want your book to look overly traditional and family shots tend to inturrupt the story-telling element of the album.
We are not traditional photographers and we don’t want our books to be “traditional” but rather an artistic storytelling heirloom that emphasizes the who, what, when, and where about the event…and highlights all the fun, intimate, and juicy details that make each wedding so unique.
Our albums tell your story and allow each spread to be a chapter in the book. Often times, with a shot we absolutely adore(!) we will allow it to span across two pages and sometime we leave a substantial amount of negative space around an image to give it room to breathe.
Here are a few sample spreads from a recent album (this is not the entire book) to give you an idea of how we love to design…
Notice how some of the images playfully reach across the middle of the book and how some are separated with space to give them more impact.
